The Ultralight Jungle Hammock is the lightest tropical hot weather hammock made by Clarke Jungle Hammock. It weighs in at 2 pounds, 9 ounces, which makes it one of the lightest shelters one can take into the wilderness. Although it’s rated to hold 250 lbs, the hammock has been stress tested on a 700 pound load! The hammock itself is constructed from premium lightweight materials and has a reputation for being built to last.
The hammock has been lab tested to be mosquito proof and is one of the only hammocks that will prevent mosquitoes from biting from underneath. Furthermore, the tent is designed to prevent tipping-over. In an emergency situation, the hammock itself can also be used as a stretcher without any modifications. The hammock can be broken down by rolling it onto itself from one side and stuffed into a built-in stuff sack. The stuff sack takes up roughly amount of space as a sleeping bag.
Because of the similarity between the ultralight and the tropical model, I find it difficult to justify spending $60 USD more for the Clark Tropical Hammock. The models are nearly identical! I’ll leave it up for the reader to determine which model will suite their needs best as everything that applies to the ultralight will be true for the tropical model.
